They are the fastest growing reader site on the Internet. Began in the living room of Otis and Elizabeth Chandler back in 2007, it didn’t take long for the site to grow. Based on the concept that people will read if they find the right book, and that we all have a secret desire to see what our ‘friends’ are reading, Goodreads membership has soared.

The website was purchased in March of this year by Amazon when it had slightly more than 10-million readers. Since March, another 10-million have joined Goodreads.

Founder Otis Chandler stated to members: “We now have 20 million members, up from 10 million members just eleven months ago … Your love of reading shines through everywhere on Goodreads, from group discussions to ratings and reviews to reading updates. You’ve written more than 25 million reviews and added more than 620 million books.”
