TEDBooks, eBooks from TED Conference Speakers, will now be available on Amazon. TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) “is a global set of conferences owned by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, formed to disseminate “ideas worth spreading.”

TED eBooks are short books based on and written by speakers and presenters from TED Conferences. They will be produced through the Kindle Singles program and range in price from $.99 – $4.99 and are 5,000 – 30,000 words. Kindle Singles is exploding the short story market with titles from well-known authors like Jodi Picoult and Jonathan Littell.

The first TEDBooks will be titles from three TED speakers: The Happiness Manifesto: How Nations and People Can Nurture Well-Beingby Nic Marks; Dangerism: Why We Worry About the Wrong Things, and What It’s Doing to Our Kidsby Gever Tulley; and Homo Evolutis: Please Meet the Next Human Speciesby Juan Enriquez and Steve Gullans.

Plans are to expand the list to over a dozen books per year and include a variety of other writing types, genres and authors.
