In response to the Republic, Missouri school board’s decision to ban Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five, the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library is offering free copies to the students in that district.

The book has been banned numerous times over the years, in both public and school libraries. The book is very irreverent, has American soldiers cursing, has sexual scenes and speaks about homosexual’s and their slaughter by the Nazi’s.

Private monetary donations have made possible the free books to the students of Republic, Missouri.
