Smashwords founder, Mark Coker recently completed a survey on his ebook forum Mobileread. Â The results of this survey show how today’s readers find books and new authors. The survey was consisted of twelve questions and those participating were only allowed to select a single answer.
Overwhelmingly, (29% of respondents) said they discovered new books and authors via “fellow readers online, forums, blogs and message boards.” Nearly 18% said they sought out their favorite authors first, and 4% said they took recommendations from friends or family.
