Get a book with your Happy Meal, at least at McDonald’s in the UK. The fast food giant plans to give out 9-million copies of author Michael Morpurgo’s Mudpuddle books tucked inside their kids Happy Meal boxes. (Mr. Morpurgo is also the author of the critically acclaimed – War Horse – a major motion picture)
“In 2011, sales of children’s books averaged 1.16 million per week – 6.4 million in a four week period – which means that McDonald’s will be handing out considerably more children’s books than are usually sold in the UK in the same period.” Said McDonald’s in a statement.
