Classics Illustrated Goes Digital

Iconic illustrated classic books from Classics Illustrated are going to be made available as digital downloads. eBook publisher, Trajectory, Inc. has purchased the digital rights from First Classic Comics who owns the rights to the comics. The acquisition includes 123 titles of such iconic comics as Snow White, Treasure Island, The Three Musketeers, and Gulliver’s Travels.

Trajectory plans to sell the digital illustrated classics for $4.99 and they will be available for iPad, iPhone and iPod. In the coming months, formats will be available for all eReaders. Publisher Scott Beatty noted, most of the classic titles average 48-pages and over one hundred titles are already available for purchase at Trajectory’s website.

From their press release: “Launched with over a hundred titles, Trajectory Comics has releasedClassics Illustrated comic series. The Classics include the world’s greatest stores told by the world’s greatest authors. Classics Illustrated were first published with the concept of bringing classic stories to young readers in an easy to access format. There are two highly acclaimed series – the original Classics Illustrated for those readers young at heart and Classics Illustrated Junior aimed at early readers. These are the stories that engage and inspire creative thinkers with the world’s greatest stories that are the fabric of everyone’s life. These remarkable comics are published for the coolest devices delivering a reading experience where kids live now, on their mobiles.”
