Bestselling author, screenwriter, and news reporter, Nora Ephron has died. She succumbed to leukemia on Tuesday at the age of 71. Ms. Ephron was a prolific author beginning just after she graduated from college. She worked for the New York Post, wrote columns for Esquire, The New York Times and hundreds of other publications.
Many will know her from her Academy nominated movies; Sleepless in Seattle, Julie & Julia, and Silkwood. She was also the author of the bestselling novel, Heartburn, which fictionally chronicled her marriage to reporter Carl Bernstein of Watergate fame.
Ms. Ephron broke down many doors barriers from women in Hollywood and in news reporting in general. All movie goes will forever remember, “I’ll have what she’s having,” from Harry Met Sally. Her wit, style and tenacity will be missed.
