Young Adult (YA) novels have become very popular, not only with younger readers but with adults as well. In light of their popularity, NPR (National Public Radio) ask their listeners to vote for their favorite novel in the genre. The listeners responded in the thousands, over 75,000 to be exact. The list reads like an iconic library of some of the world’s most beloved titles. There are 100 year old classics and some very new tomes.

The top five:
1. The Harry Potter Series – J.K. Rowling
2. The Hunger Games Series – Suzanne Collins
3. To Kill a Mocking Bird – Harper Lee
4. The Fault in our Stars – John Green
5. The Hobbit – J.R. Tolkien
