Over the last year, Frommer’s Travel Guides have been sold to Wiley and then to Google. Now, the original owner/creator of the beloved travel guides, Arthur Frommer is buying it back.

After learning that Google would not be printing the “gold” standard of travel guides and only offering them in eFormat, Mr. Frommer bought his brand back.

Frommer founded the guidebook imprint in 1957 and has since published over 300 titles. In a statement the 83 Frommer said:  It’s a very happy time for me. We will be publishing the Frommer travel guides in ebook and print formats and will also be operating the travel site Frommers.com.”

The purchase price remains undisclosed.
