The Edgar Awards are the Mystery Writers of America’s answer to the Oscars. If you are a mystery reader or writer, these awards celebrate the best of the genre each year. Authors Ken Follett and Margaret Maron were selected as this year’s recipients of the Grand Masters Award – given to those authors to “acknowledge important contributions to this genre, awell as a body of work that is both significant and of consistent high quality.”

Awards are given in several mystery writing categories. Here are the winners for 2013:
