RT Booklovers Convention Vegas: Day 2 Panels and Parties and Aching Feet

I started off the morning with the Supernatural Dragon Den of Magical Mayhem, with authors; Marie Andreas, Cassi Carver, Pat Esden, Tameri Etherton, Lisa Kessler, Debra Kristi, Melinda VanLone, and C.L. Wilson. Not only are these ladies compelling writers of fantasy worlds populated with shifters, winged beasts, and supernatural powers, but they definitely know how to throw a party. I had so much fun I honestly didn’t want to leave at the end of the hour. And I love my little dragon and more free books to take home. Thanks guys!

After that I got lazy, and let’s face it, my feet hurt from trekking the halls yesterday, so I slipped just across the way into a room featuring, Steampunk: 007 in a Bullet-Proof Corset: Why do Spies and Steampunk Work So Well Together? Truthfully, I didn’t bother to read the sign for the next panel or I might not have ventured there. But this was decisive proof to me that you can go to almost any workshop or panel and love it.

Up to this point I haven’t read much Steampunk, but that changes now. Authors Pip Ballantine and Tee Morris, writers of The Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences, novels convinced me in under an hour that Steampunk may be my newest fascination. Okay, this couple – and they are a pretty cute, married couple; hilarious banter, and noticeable chemistry and all – are so dang entertaining I’m going to sign up for everything they’re offering from podcasts, to recommended movies and TV shows, to getting their first book in the series on my iPad tonight. I can already tell I’m going to be a drooling fan-girl of these two! I’d be reading their book on the plane if I weren’t driving home. They were just delightful, and believe me that’s not a word I use very often.

Later, I had a blast at Christine Feehan’s ‘Race through the Shadows’ Party, featuring the premier of her new COS BookTrailer for Shadow Riders, the first book in her brand-new series. Hint: Make time to check out the trailer. The quality is amazing. I felt like I could have been watching a preview gracing the big movie screen.

Brownies, bananas and other goodies dipped in chocolate fondue paired with two, very cool racetracks with gorgeous guys battling to be driving champion, and one of my favorite all-time favorite authors made my night.
