Harlequin Ends Five Book Lines

0

Romance publishing giant Harlequin Books has announced five of their series lines will be discontinued in 2018.

From Harlequin’s press release these are the lines that will close: Harlequin Western (June 2018), Harlequin Superromance (June 2018), Love Inspired Historical (June 2018), Harlequin Nocturne (December 2018), and Kimani Romance (December 2018).

In a statement to Romance Writer’s of America (RWA) Loriana Sacilotto, EVP Global Publishing offered this:

The series market has evolved dramatically over the last few years due to changes in retail landscape and readership preferences. In the face of this ever-changing environment, we are shifting resources from a few series that have been in decline and focusing our efforts on the series that are the most popular with readers and booksellers. Harlequin Series continues to publish a breadth of editorial in category romance that offers readers real choice. We would like our publishing relationship with the authors affected to continue and will encourage them to submit to these lines.
