Christmas blog2Today, we peek into the office of author SUSAN CARLISLE!

I love to decorate for Christmas. I have gone from elaborate decorations to simple and meaningful ones over the years. I usually only go in for the traditional stuff like fresh greenery and berries in the other parts of my house but I do have a number of items that aren’t in that vein in my office.

My newest addition to my decorating scheme is a book tree. I found this idea in a magazine last year and had to try it. It is perfect for a reader and an author, especially for their office. The best part is that I use my own books. Plus it is easy and free. All I add is a cut out star. Do you think Santa will find it? I hope so.

My other decoration remains up year around. That is a miniature Christmas tree under glass. I made it over 35 years ago from a kit. I still think it’s rather fun. Every time I move it or dust it (which isn’t often) I have to rehang some of the ornaments which can require tweezers. It is a sweet little tree especially when it is lite at night.

Otherwise, my office doubles as Santa’s workshop. I am currently working on a stocking for one of my daughter-in-laws. I write a little and cross-stitch a little.

This month I happen to have a Christmas book out called A Daddy Sent by Santa  Here is a little hint to what it is about:  When a small-town mom… Falls for a big-city doc…

Nurse Lauren Wilson is used to doctors coming and going in her Oklahoma town — and doesn’t expect prestigious Boston doc Paxton Samuels to be any different. Until they’re snowed in together and their sensual tension reaches boiling point! But knowing Paxton is due to leave after the festive season, can Lauren risk giving him her heart and her little boy a daddy for Christmas?

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
