World Book Day, (World Book and Copyright Day, or International Day of the Book) has become an annual event. It hopes to promote reading, and publishing on a global scale. Organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the first World Book Day was celebrated back in April 1995.
