Well known for it’s award winning booktrailers, Circle of Seven Productions has once again garnered the 2012 Book Trailer of the Year Award for 2012 from the League of Utah Writers. This year marked the first time the league has held a contest for booktrailers, and author Heather B. (H.B.) Moore is the recipient.

Ms. Moore, best known for her Out of Jerusalem Series, and is the award-winning author of several historical novels which are set in Ancient Arabia and Mesoamerica.

The booktrailer for which she won the coveted award is for her novel Daughters of Jared.

Circle of Seven Productions (COS Productions), created the first Book Trailer in 2002. Previously, the publishing industry had not taken full advantage of the opportunity that video marketing affords authors and publishing houses. COS Productions continues to be the leader in book trailer production in the U.S.; winning several prestigious awards for both broadband and broadcast videos.

COS Productions is a specialty company. Our number one focus is multimedia and online marketing. We not only endeavor to create quality, entertaining book video, but we are constantly looking for innovative ways to bring in new readers. COS Productions has won numerous awards for their in-depth, cutting edge booktrailers.

We are proud that our continuing efforts toward excellence in the industry has been recognized with the 2012 League of Utah Writers Booktrailer of the Year award.

About the The League of Utah Writers:

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to offering friendship, education, and encouragement to the poets and writers of Utah. We have been around for just over 75 years. There are local chapters from Cache Valley all the way to St. George. We also have an online group that has recently started up. Though we are located in Utah, we are limited to just those who live in the state.

This was the first year of the book trailer contest.  We initiated it due to the changing face of book promotions.  Not only is it a new and exciting option for marketing, it is also a way for the League to recognize excellence and help drive traffic to deserving authors.  As opposed to the Published Book contest, which relied on industry professionals as judges, the judges for the Book Trailer contest were chosen for being avid readers across genres.  The judges themselves spanned as many demographics as possible (men/women, LDS/non-LDS, young/not-so-young, etc).  The fact the the winning trailers represent books from 3 different genres is illustrative of the value of diversity in judges.  Three judges watched each trailer at least twice and scored it on a scale from 1-100.

There were a dozen entries, which was promising for the first year of the contest.  All trailers were judged against each other, meaning there were no sub-categories.

Congratulations to COS Productions!
