Beyond the Jumbotron Explores How Immersive Technology Redefines Fan Engagement in the Digital Era

In an era where fans are seeking more than just the traditional game-day experience, industry leader James Giglio, Founder and CEO of MVP Interactive, unveils his latest book today, Beyond the Jumbotron, that explores the ever-evolving landscape of fan engagement.

Today’s fans, particularly millennials, seek immersive and interactive experiences, rendering traditional advertising approaches outdated. Beyond the Jumbotron not only recognizes this shift but also provides a roadmap for a new era of fan engagement, where fans are integral to the experience.

Giglio shares, “We’re transitioning from mere ad placement to immersive engagement. This book offers a glimpse into the future of marketing and fan experiences. I’m excited to share the principles that have powered MVP Interactive’s success and inspire others to transform how they connect with their audience.”

From his childhood dreams in Ocean County, New Jersey, to his experience with a New York advertising agency, he noticed three significant trends: the explosion of iPhone apps, the increasing use of digital signage, and the rise of pop-up events by leading brands. This insight fueled his vision for MVP Interactive, a company dedicated to crafting immersive consumer experiences. Over the years, Giglio’s team has completed 200+ projects, collaborating with leading brands, sports teams, and leagues, including Coca-Cola, Audi, MLB, and NBA.

The book not only unveils the “why” behind the adoption of immersive technology but also provides a comprehensive guide on the “how.” Packed with real-world case studies, the book illustrates the boundless possibilities of new technology, with this just being the beginning. As live events make a triumphant return post-Covid, the book’s launch is impeccably timed. It explores a new hybrid world where human interaction and technology seamlessly converge.

Beyond the Jumbotron is a beacon for fan engagement in the 21st century. A guide for sports properties, brands, and organizations seeking to leverage immersive technology for unforgettable experiences and tangible results.

Beyond the Jumbotron is available for order wherever books and eBooks are sold. For more information, visit [www.jamesgiglio.com]. To purchase, click HERE.

Behind The Words with Shelley Shepard Gray

0

Today, we welcome author Shelley Shepard Gray to the blog to talk about her latest release Her Secret Hope — A Season in Pinecraft Book. Welcome, Shelley. First, give our readers a peek at your new book.

Lilly Kurtz decides to take a job at the Marigold Inn in Pinecraft, and she’s eager to spend more time with her best friends and make new friends who know nothing about her past. When guests Eddie Byler and his grandmother befriend her, she’s sure she made the right decision. However, as her romance with Eddie blossoms, she soon learns that everything in her past cannot be erased, just as Eddie must come to terms with the fact that his views on what is right and wrong might not be as correct as he believed. Only by being completely honest with each other—and with themselves—will Lilly and Eddie learn that their secret hopes and dreams can become their realities.

Readers were first introduced to Lilly Kurtz in Her Heart’s Desire, the first book in your series. Can you please explain why Lilly left her hometown in Middlefield, Ohio and went to Pinecraft?

Lilly Kurtz first leaves her hometown in an attempt to live her life without the stigma of her birth parents’ mistakes.

Lilly has a budding relationship with Eddie Byler, who highly values honesty and trust. But Lilly’s past could threaten their future. What do you feel readers can learn from Lilly and Eddie’s relationship?

This novel focuses not only on the themes of honesty and trust but also God’s grace. It’s my hope that readers will be able to connect with one of the characters in the novel who is searching for the Lord’s acceptance and love.

In addition to facing one’s past, are there other underlying themes found within Her Secret Hope?

I think another theme is friendship and accepting God’s grace. So many of the characters— whether they are in their twenties, forties, or seventies—are often reaching out to others for support or guidance. I loved that each character is eventually reminded that he or she needs not only God’s love but their friends’ and family’s support and love as well.

Her Secret Hope is the final novel in the A Season in Pinecraft series. What was the connecting element for all of the books in your series?

From the beginning, I was anxious to highlight three women who felt like “wallflowers,” who felt like they didn’t really click with their peer group in their hometowns. I wanted to empower them and have them not only find acceptance but learn to value their unique selves. Pinecraft, Florida, a place where Amish from all over America vacation, felt like the perfect spot. So, I strived for each novel to be a different play on “an Amish wallflower on vacation.”

Are there any threads that run through the whole series that will be wrapped up in this book?

No. Each book was written to stand alone.

How have you personally been impacted by this series?

I love to write novels about things that could happen to anyone—my characters just happen to be Amish. Writing this series, with each woman looking for acceptance, love, and friendship, reaffirmed this belief. On a personal note, I truly enjoyed writing this series. It was an upbeat trio of stories highlighting positive themes. It made for a lot of happy writing days!

Why did you choose Pinecraft, Florida, as the setting for your series?

Pinecraft is one of my favorite settings for novels because it’s the only place where Amish from all over the world come together. It’s a unique setting rich with possibilities for new stories. Honestly, I could happily write a dozen books set in Pinecraft—there’s such a fun mixture of people there!

How can readers connect with you?

I’m on Facebook, on Instagram, and on Twitter. I have a private FB group called Shelley Shepard Gray’s Buggy Bunch, which is easy to join and I post often. I also have a “short and sweet” monthly newsletter that readers can sign up for on my website, www.shelleyshepardgray.com.

Thank you for joining us today! It’s always fun to visit Pinecraft.
Readers, here’s a quick look at Her Secret Hope which releases November 7th!

Almost two years after Lilly Kurtz first traveled to Pinecraft, Florida, with friends, she’s decided to make a fresh start there. She’s ready to be new-and-improved Lilly, a Lilly without a past, a Lilly with no secrets. At first, everything goes well. She gets a job, her coworkers feel like family, and she enjoys reconnecting with her friends. But it turns out the past is reluctant to be left behind.

When Lilly meets hardworking farmer Eddie Byler, she can’t get him off of her mind. But then she discovers that Eddie actually lives just a few miles from her hometown in Ohio. Lilly knows that he’s not going to like it when he finds out what secrets she’s been running from. And she knows she could never follow the man she’s falling in love with back to a place where she’s never felt accepted.

Will Lilly have to give up on love in order to find peace? Or could it be that love is actually the solution to all of her problems?

0

Dark Horse Comics and Lucasfilm Publishing announce the launch of a new Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories original graphic novel line. Each volume will stand alone as a brilliant showcase of some of Star Wars most iconic characters. The full line-up includes Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, Rey, General Grievous, Kylo Ren, and Darth Vader. Each volume will be lovingly crafted by Star Wars all-star authors including George Mann (Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures—The Nameless Terror), New York Times bestselling writers Cecil Castellucci (Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories), Justina Ireland (Star Wars: The High Republic—A Test of Courage), and Michael Moreci (Stranger Things)–just to name a few! Art, colors, and letters are also provided by a stellar cast of Star Wars creators new and old including Andrea Mutti, Lucas Marangon, Michael Atiyeh, and Nick Brokenshire, who each bring their unique style to the Star Wars comics universe. Covers for the Hyperspace Stories OGN line will be illustrated by superstar artist Michael Cho (Shoplifter).

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, which landed in theaters May 19, 1999, this unique series of books will kick off with Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories–Qui-Gon, written by George Mann with art by Andrea Mutti and Gigi Baldassini, arriving in April 2024.

“I’m thrilled to be getting my hands on Qui-Gon at long last!” said writer George Mann, “He’s such an icon of the Prequel era, and it’s a real joy to be able to add to his story. Expect everything from lightsaber battles to creepy investigations, from dark side sects to familiar faces, as we check in on Qui-Gon at three pivotal moments in his life, venturing to the streets of Jedha as a Padawan, to the distant world of Cerosha as a lonesome Jedi Knight, and deep into the wreck of an ancient spaceship as a Jedi Master. Count Dooku! Young Obi-Wan! It’s all here! Plus, of course, the most gorgeous art from Andrea and Gigi.”

Qui-Gon Jinn is one of the most revered Jedi of all time. From his youth as a gifted Padawan under Count Dooku, to his years as a skilled Jedi Master and one of the most respected Force wielders in the history of the Jedi Order, his story is truly remarkable. This particular tale looks at a series of recurring events from across his life, slowly bringing together clues over the years to help Qui-Gon complete the puzzle of some of the Force’s many mysterious followers: The Brotherhood of the Ninth Door. Secret Force abilities could make them a great ally to the Jedi, or a powerful enemy. Master Qui-Gon and his eager young Padawan learner, Obi-Wan Kenobi, must uncover their secrets before they fall into the wrong hands!

“We’re so excited to bring these original graphic novels to Star Wars fans of all ages,” said Michael Siglain, creative director, Lucasfilm publishing. “These are all swashbuckling standalone stories that focus on classic characters and showcase why they’re so beloved and iconic. And in addition to highlighting these galactic heroes and villains, we’re also really embracing the medium, telling tales as only comics can.”

Featuring a cover by award-winning artist Michael Cho, Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories Qui-Gon Jinn spans 80 pages and is a standard comic size (6.625″ x 10.1875″) original graphic novel, which will arrive in bookstores April 23, 2024 and comic shops on April 24, 2024. COMIC CON RADIO & ABLAZE LAUNCH THE FRIGHTENINGLY REALISTIC POST APOCALYPTIC SERIES ALMOST DEAD

0

Series from Spoiler Magazine and Comic Con Radio founder Galaxy and Eisner nominated artist Ryan Benjamin charts a woman’s quest to survive and reunite with her family in a shattered new world.

Comics and graphic novel publisher ABLAZE delivers a notable horror genre release with the print and digital debut of ALMOST DEAD on October 31st.

Arriving in plenty of time for Halloween, ALMOST DEAD is an intriguing post-apocalyptic horror-drama adventure about triumph, growth and the resiliency of the human spirit brought to you by writer and Comic Con Radio/Spoiler Magazine founder, Galaxy, and the Eisner-nominated artist, Ryan Benjamine (Batman Beyond, Star Wars, Xmen, Grifter), which redefines the genre, with a cinematic approach and strong attention to detail.

ALMOST DEAD Issue 1, story by Galaxy, artwork by Ryan Benjamin
SRP: $3.99 – Available October 31st
Somewhere between pure exhilaration and sheer terror is Almost Dead!

After having an accident on her way home to visit her family, Sara Walker awakens to find that the world has changed. Now she must travel up the Eastern Seaboard, using suppressed survival skills she learned as a child, in hopes of reuniting with her loved ones during a viral pandemic that has turned humans into monsters. Set in 2005, Sara unites with old acquaintances and new friends along the way, and her struggle to survive will be both an unexpectedly exciting journey and an absolute horror.

Relentlessly vicious, Almost Dead isn’t a typical apocalyptic story. It adeptly weaves conspiracy with historical flashbacks and shows how perhaps everything we’ve learned in textbooks has been altered over time.

Spoiler Media/Comic Con Radio & ABLAZE Launches Post Apocalyptic Comic Book Series ALMOST DEAD

ALMOST DEAD is a story of triumph and the will to survive, says writer/creator Galaxy. !It’s also about family and new friends and overcoming obstacles. Most of all, it’s a very serious and realistic story. Having survived the COVID pandemic, humanity has a sense that anything can happen. Catastrophic possibilities are no longer purely theoretical and that presents many intriguing opportunities for me to explore with this story and its characters.

“The realism of ALMOST DEAD is what makes it so scary…and compelling,” says ABLAZE co- founder, Rich Young. “Humanity’s will to survive is indomitable and ALMOST DEAD’s story premise and characters are extremely relatable and inspiring. Galaxy and Ryan Benjamin have created a tale that will leave a lasting impression on readers, and we look forward to them discovering this new series from ABLAZE.”

ABLAZE titles are distributed in-print worldwide by Diamond Comic and Diamond Book Distributors. Digital versions of ABLAZE titles are available via most major digital platforms.

A Need for Violence by Dusty Richards

In this sprawling, multigenerational frontier saga from Spur Award-winning author Dusty Richards, the epic journey west takes a deadly turn when the Harrigans get caught in a war between two rival tribes…

Spring, 1850. After a brutally long winter in the Rockies, Mack Harrigan and his growing family have learned to manage the harsh realities of frontier life. Their new friends, the Shoshone, have taught them the skills they need to survive in this rugged land, from tracking and hunting to fishing and foraging. But the skills they need most are those of the Shoshone warrior—when their camp is attacked by an enemy tribe. . .

Sometimes there is a need for violence. This is one of those times.

The attackers are merciless. They crush the skulls of their victims. Slice off their scalps. And kidnap children as prisoners of war. The Harrigans are horrified by the bloodshed and brutality of the attack—and are determined to fight back alongside the Shoshone. But their mission to save the children will ultimately send the battling Harrigans even deeper into the wild frontier. Farther west than most dare to travel. And closer to finding the American dream—if they survive. . .

Book Lights – shining a light on good books!

Here’s a quick look at Ray’s latest release NIGHT LIFE:

When Ray Garton’s Live Girls was published in 1987, it changed the face of vampire fiction. The gritty, urban story of Davey Owen’s dark seduction and reluctant transformation into a creature of the undead has become a classic of the genre.

In Night Life, nearly two decades after battling the vampires of the Midnight Club in New York City, Davey is a marked man. He lives a quiet life in Los Angeles with the love of his life, Casey Thorne. The vampires he did not destroy back then have been hunting him ever since, eager to take their revenge—and now they have found him. For what he did to them, they are determined to make him pay with his last drop of blood. With the help of old friends and new allies, Davey and Casey must face the bloodthirsty nightmare of their past. This time, they may not have a future.
