HarperPress: Ends Fiction Publishing

HarperCollins annouced that its imprint, HarperPress will cease to publish fiction titles at the end of 2012. This comes in conjunction with the departure of Clare Smith, Harper’s Fiction Editor moves to Little, Brown.

Publisher and CEO of HarperCollins, Victoria Barnsley commented; “Our goal in this review is to create more focus in the business. It make absolute sense to concentrate on our core offering in HarperPress of history, politics, biography, and memoirs.”

HarperPress fiction’s interim editor will be Essie Cousins, with Katie Espinerof HarperFiction scheduled to oversee the transition of fiction authors currently with the HarperPress to HarperFiction.
