Inkling is a small publisher that has been very quietly moving fast-forward in the publishing world. Inkling is one of the very few publishers that produces how-to and hobby books in digital format.

The publisher has now announced they are launching an online store called the Inkling Library. Their library will feature hobby, how-to, travel, textbooks; almost  300 non-fiction titles available for digital download. Using Inkling’s digital publishing platform the books come with “advanced search, the ability to sync across iPad, iPhone and the Web, glossary terms, interactive guided tours and slideshows, high-res images and social notes.

They are focusing on working with textbook publishers to create digital textbooks via their cloud-based platform, Habitat. Instead of individual publishers having to create their own platform, Inkling simplifies the process. Their platform also works across nearly every media platform, web, iPad, iPhone, and your phone. As the Department of Education is working to switch schools into an all digital format within the next ten years, Inkling looks poised to be a leader in that market.

Their digital titles will be selling at an average price of $9.99
