eBook Gift Cards for the Holidays

With the holidays fast approaching, many of you will want to give books as gifts. With print books it was a simple task, you merely purchased the book and handed it to the recipient. With the rise of eBooks, giving a digital edition is a bit more complicated.

It’s pretty easy to ‘gift’ a book via Amazon, Barnes & Noble or by Kobo. Opening a present in your email doesn’t have quite the same ‘ahh’ moment as opening a ‘real’ gift.

A new company is working to help solve the eBook, gift-giving dilemma. Livrada is offering gift cards for eBooks that feature the books cover, title and can be gift wrapped with a book page and ribbon. Even if you don’t know what eReader the gift recipient has, it’s not a problem as the gift card comes with redemption codes that allow for multiple download options. As long as the book title you are giving is available in that bookstore, they can download it.

From their website:
Livrada was founded to make e-book gifting more personal. For centuries, people have given books to each other. Books are the perfect gift; meaningful and personal, a book reflects the thought that the gift-giver put into the purchase.

We created Livrada title-based e-book gift cards (US Patent pending) to recapture this experience. We want to reintroduce a personal touch into the world of digital media, starting with e-books.
