A lost chapter of an incomplete work by author Truman Capote was recently discovered by Vanity Fair at the New York Public Library. The chapters are from a book called Answered Prayers which Capote began back in 1966. He failed to delivered a completed manuscript to his publisher, apparently due to substance abuse problems, and only wrote three chapters. Those chapters were published by Esquire Magazine in 1975/76 and were eventually part of the novel Answered Prayers: The Unfinished Novel.

The discovered chapter is titled “Yachts and Things“. The ‘lost’ pages are typed and have Capote’s edited notes on it. There are a total of seven pages and you can read them all by going here.
