Human Body Adventure Teaches Kid’s Health the Fun Way

Human Body Detectives (HBD), a series of action-packed fiction stories that take kids on imaginative journeys through the digestive, immune and circulatory systems, now releases its’ fourth case story on the skeletal system, Osteoblasts to the Rescue!

The HBD book series & curriculum is authored by Dr. Heather Manley, a Hawaii-based naturopathic physician who noticed a void in children’s books that focused on the different systems of the body in an interactive and engaging way. The characters are based on Dr. Heather’s daughters of the same name – Merrin and Pearl, who have the ability to jump in and examine the various systems on in the body; their adventures are fun stories and helpful tools to educate children on how their body works and whay foods best fuel it. Each book is geared for 4 – 10 year olds, whereas, corresponding elementary science curriculum features in depth turn – key lesson plans, labs, colorful stickers and activities for grades 3 to 5.In Osteoblasts to the Rescue, Merrin and Pearl navigate their friend, Lily’s, broken arm and learn all about bones: from how bones fix themselves to what nutrients they need to be strong and healthy.

Alison Ellis (Youth Media Consultant) says: “A terrific way to “bone up” on your knowledge of the skeletal system! Once again, Merrin and Pearl’s delightful adventures allow readers to learn science and health from a new perspective.”Human Body Detectives books are available on Amazon & curriculum on Teachers Pay TeachersHomeschool Buyers Co op and humanbodydetectives.com
