Russell Brand’s Trickster Tales will be a series modified fairy tales penned by the sometimes controversial actor and comedian. Already a published author releasing an autobiography My Booky Wook in 2007, followed by Irons in the Fire a book that shares his his love of football. Trickster Tales will be Brand’s first books directed at kids. Russell Brand says his Trickster Tales are, “where I do interpretations of fairy stories and folk tales, believing them to be the code to unlock aspects of our consciousness, and to affect and impact the way that we see the world.”
Doing a retelling of the Pied Piper of Hamelin for his first book, Brand has created a Youtube video where he reads the opening of the story. Illustrations for the book will be done by Chris Riddell. Press releases say the book will be released this fall.
