Illustrators are invited to enter the contest sponsored by The Folio Society and House of Illustration to illustrate Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse.
The 2016 Book Illustration Competition will begin accepting entries on September 1st. Author Michael Morpuro will help select the winning illustrator. Folio Society art director Sheri Gee, said War Horse will be a “particular” challenge because of the equestrian element. Other judges are: Johanna Geary (editor at Folio), Joe Whitlock Blundell (limited edition director at Folio), Colin McKenzie (director of the House of Illustration) and David McConochie (winner of this year’s competition).
The entries will “consist of three illustrations and one book binding for the children’s story by 18th January 2016. The illustrations must be for parts of the story throughout the book, not just the first and last chapter, and cost of entry is £25, or £15 for students.”
The submissions page will go live on the 1st September and will be hosted on the House of Illustration website.
