Sourcebooks and National Geographic Kids have partnered to publish books for kids that are personalized with the child’s name and photo scattered through the books. At this time there are two titles available for personalization; Little Kids Book of Dinosaurs and National Geographic Little Kids Book of Animals. Caregivers/Parents can also add a “dedicated message” to the child in the book, and at the back of each book is a special area where the child can write their own story. Books can be ordered at PutMeInTheStory.com.
As part of the special release promotion of the books National Geographic is hosting a contest just for kids Little Explorer Drawing Contest. Any child entering the contest can download a drawing/coloring document, do their best creative artwork and share their finished artwork on social media using the hashtag #ColorandExplore. The winning entry will receive a four-day trip to San Diego where they will share in the San Diego Zoo’s 100th Anniversary celebration. Entries can be obtain at: Little Explorer Drawing Contest. The contest is open until June 17th.
