Authors in several genres; romance, science fiction, mystery and YA create a diversified group. Newer authors like C.H. Admirand, Wendi Zwaduk, and Monica Corwin sign books next to stellar names like J.R. Ward, Karen Marie Moning, Jill Salvis and of course, Lori Foster.
Besides book-signings on Friday and Saturday, Barnes & Noble opens a bookstore with titles from many of the authors, publishers and authors open boardrooms to readers offering swag, books, literary games, and readings to attendees. Several meals are provided throughout the three days, and of course, the raffle baskets.
There were over 250 raffle items/baskets donated by authors, publishers, and readers wishing to support an amazing cause. Each year, the caliber of the baskets goes up a level, the number of donations increases and thanks to wonderful readers, the amount raised for charity skyrockets. A record was once again set this year with over $22,000 being raised for One Way Farm. For those unfamiliar with the charity, it takes kids no one else wants, those that because of circumstances can’t be placed in the foster care system, and gives them care, education, safety, and hope.
