What is Prime Book Box?

Prime Book Box is a subscription program exclusively for Prime members who want to discover great children’s books for kids 12 years old and younger. With Prime Book Box, you’ll receive books tailored to your child’s age every 1, 2, or 3 months at $22.99 per box, plus tax.

What do I get?

Each box contains 2 hardcover children’s books tailored to your reader’s age (for ages 3-12), or 4 board books for kids 2 and younger.

What if I don’t want a box every month?

Prime Book Box subscriptions give you the flexibility to pick the frequency that’s right for you. You can choose to receive a box every 1, 2, or 3 months. You can skip a box and change the frequency in Your Memberships & Subscriptions.

Is Prime Book Box cheaper than buying the books individually?

Prime Book Box saves you up to 35% off List Price, and is always an equal or better value than Amazon’s everyday low prices. In the event that the books in your box are available from Amazon.com for less than $22.99 at the time your order is placed, you’ll receive the lower price automatically.

Invitation

I requested an invitation to subscribe to Prime Book Box. When will I be able to sign up?

Stay tuned! Prime Book Box is currently available by invitation only for Prime members. If you’re interested in subscribing, simply click the “Request an invitation” button on www.amazon.com/primebookbox. You will receive an email letting you know when you can sign up.

Curation

How do you pick the books?

From our large selection of children’s books, we use expert recommendations from our Amazon Books Editors and customer ratings and reviews to curate great, age-appropriate books for each box. These books include classics that have stood the test of time as well as hidden gems that our Editors couldn’t put down—stories that your reader can enjoy again and again. We will also use your recent purchase history to avoid including a book you have already purchased on Amazon.com. Reader profiles can be updated at any time in Your Memberships & Subscriptions.

Can I make changes to the books in my box?

Yes! You are able to tailor each box before it ships by swapping books from a curated list of alternate selections.

How do I tailor my box, or swap books?

During sign-up, you can review and edit the books in your first box. After your first box, you will receive an email to preview future boxes. You will have 5 days after receiving the preview email to review your box, during which time you can choose to swap books from alternate titles. If you wish to make changes, follow these steps from your preview email:

1) Click the “Make changes to this box” button in your preview email.
2) Tap the “Swap” button next to a book to select an alternate.
3) Tap “Confirm and ship this box” once you’ve selected the desired books.

You can also review and swap books (if within the 5-day review window) in Your Memberships & Subscriptions. Action is not mandatory – if you don’t make changes, or you want your box to be a surprise, you’ll receive the books we selected. If you don’t want any of the book options, you can skip that box and you won’t be charged.

How long do I have to swap books, or make changes to my box?

The ability to make changes to your box will end at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the date indicated in your preview email.

How many alternate books can I choose from to swap into my box?

You are presented with 4 alternate books that you can choose to swap into your box. In total, Baby-2 boxes will provide 8 book options from which you can choose 4. For age ranges 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12, you are presented with 6 options from which you can choose 2.

What about books I already own?

We will use your recent purchase history to avoid including a book you have already purchased on Amazon.com.

What if I don’t want any of the book options for a given box?

You can skip a box by clicking the “Make changes to this box” link in your preview email or from Your Memberships & Subscriptions.

Will I see books in a series as part of Prime Book Box’s curation?

We will periodically feature the first book in a series, introducing readers to new characters and adventures. You can easily find the next book in the series on Amazon.com.

Why does the Baby-2 age range receive board books?

Board books are made specifically for tiny hands, so they are great for the youngest of readers (or listeners!). Board books are also heavy duty and durable, so you can be sure to enjoy with your child again and again.

Where is Prime Book Box available?

Prime Book Box is currently available in the United States.

Is shipping included in the price of the box?

Yes, shipping is free.

When is my box shipped?

Your first box will ship with FREE Prime Two-Day Shipping. For future deliveries, we’ll send you an email with a preview of your box before it ships. You’ll have 5 days to review and make any changes. If you take no action, your box will ship after the 5-day review window has passed. We’ll then pack your books and ship them to your door. Your box will arrive within 5-10 days.

Per Prime shipping eligibility policies, the following addresses will receive FREE Standard Shipping: P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO, Alaska and Hawaii addresses.

Can I combine my Prime Book Box order with other Amazon.com orders?

Prime Book Box is a special delivery for your reader and has its own unique packaging, so Prime Book Box orders cannot be shipped with other Amazon orders in the same box.

Returns

Can I return books I receive in Prime Book Box?

Yes. If you are not satisfied with one or more of the books received in your Prime Book Box, you are able to return any item in your box within 30 days of delivery. To return, locate the book(s) in Your Orders, click the “Return item” button, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Subscription Management

How do I manage my subscription?

To make changes to, or cancel, your Prime Book Box subscription:

1) Go to Your Memberships & Subscriptions.
2) Find your Prime Book Box subscription and select Manage Subscription.
3) Select the desired change and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: Canceling your subscription does not cancel any unshipped orders that may already be placed. You can find more information about how to cancel orders here.

I have two (or more) readers. Can I sign up for more than one Prime Book Box subscription?

Yes! If you have more than one reader or you’d simply like to receive more books, you can sign up for more than one Prime Book Box subscription. You can send each subscription to a different address.

Note: If subscribing for more than one child, we recommend choosing to address each box to that child’s name (by changing the Shipping Address during sign up), so that your readers can immediately distinguish which box is theirs. This makes delivery even more special!
