The Renegade Shifters by Cheryl Rush Cowperthwait

5 out of 5 stars

This is a genre-bending action/adventure tale with bits of paranormal, science fiction, suspense and romance. Our heroes and heroines are not exactly nice people. Baily, who has had more than one name and is a shifter, is a strong heroine and somewhat unpredictable at times.
The shifters have banded together for safety, resources and power. But, not all is what it seems because someone (can’t tell you) does experiments on them. They escape, thus becoming renegades.
It’s a fast-paced story. A little too much tell than show, but the overall storyline is good and solid. It’s something different in a genre where so much is predictable.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

There is more than meets the eyes with Bailey. She lives her life through the help of the network of Shifters, roaming from place to place. She meets up with Linken, Marlow and Geoff in LA, looking for some cheap thrills but finds more than she bagained for. A handsome man catches her eye at a posh LA club and he changes everything. His name is Rhyzel. Soon the memories flood back in. She was with him–before. He was the Alpha 1 experiment gone bad, or so she was told. There was a lot she was told that begins to unravel as she learns the truth. She–they were no ordinary shifters. They were designed for nefarious reasons.

Should Bailey trust Rhyzel? Her heart pulls her to him but he carries a secret, a secret that puts her friends in grave danger. The kind of danger that is tied into conspiracy theories, space and the military.
