Bestselling author Charlaine Harris is ending her much loved Sookie Stackhouse series. The novels filled with the telepathic Sookie, assorted paranormal entities, sexy vampires and an entire “otherworld” inspired the HBO hit series, True Blood. The series began in 2001 with Dead Until Dark and will end in May 2013 with Dead Ever After.
Author Charlaine Harris said: “I think it’ll be total closure. I don’t go back to things once I’ve finished them. That’s kind of what I do. I don’t want to write Sookie after I get stale.”
There has been no word on how this will impact the HBO series.
