OverDrive, a digital book distributor for libraries nationwide, reports a 200% increase in eBook checkouts this year. They estimate that eBook checkouts will total more than 16-million books by the end of 2011.
They also reported that 2-million new library digital users signed up in 2011 for the ability to check out eBooks, and of those 21% were checking out eBooks on their phones.
