Amazon to Buy U.K. Competitor

In what could be one of the largest bookseller deals in recent memory, Amazon announces the purchase of the Book Depository, a U.K. and Austrailian bookseller. The bookseller was Amazons largest European competitor. Founded in 2004 and known for their free worldwide shipping, Book Depository was the Direct Bookselling Company of the Year in 2010. According to both companies websies, the acquisition will enhance customer serice and signicantly increase Amazon’s library of book titles.
