An assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin, Sue Fondrie has won the 2011 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest. The contest began in 1982 at the San Jose State University as a “fun” contest for the “writer” in everyone. Ms. Fondrie’s winning sentence: “Cheryl’s mind turned like the vines of a wind-powered turbine, chopping her sparrow-like thoughts into bloody pieces that fell onto the growing pile of forgotten memories.”
That very deserving entry join the ranks of other famous winners from around the globe.
