According to Salarieslist.com, the average yearly wage for a writer is $44,000. There are a few well-know scribes however, that have managed to create a writing business that has propelled them into multi-millionaire status. Most of these authors have been writing a long time and their works have been turned into movies, videos, toys and other marketing pieces.
Last week, Forbes released it list of Top-Earning Authors, and it is an impressive list. The top five are:
1. James Patterson: $94 million
2. Stephen King: $39 million
3. Janet Evanovich: $33 million
4. John Grisham: $26 million
5. Jeff Kinney: (pictured) $25 million
