The enormously popular, long running science-fiction series Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan will end this January. The last book in the series, A Memory of Light which was co-written by author Brandon Sanderson ends the bestselling series. Sanderson was ask to co-author the final book due to Mr. Jordan’s failing health. Personally selected to complete the book by Jordan’s widow, Harriet McDougal, he is the author of the Mistborn series. Mr. Jordan’s passed away in September 2007, before the final edits had been completed.
A Memory of Light is the fourteenth book in the series that began back in 1990 with Eye of the World. A few notes from Jodan’s publisher Tor:
“The coming year will see the publication of A Memory of Light, the concluding volume of Robert Jordan’s epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time.
With such a momentous ending at hand, we’re taking the opportunity to explore the world Jordan has created. We’ll hear from a myriad of people who have invested themselves heavily in this world and discuss what we think is coming, what we hope is coming, and what we love about what has come before.
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend… Memories, one hopes, of light.”
On January 7th, Tor and Professor Thom’s Restaurant in New York are teaming up for a Memory of Light “Party”. You can find additional details regarding the release party by clicking here. Fans are also invited to a virtual party via Facebook, here is a link with more information.
