Literary giant, bestselling author Stephen King is releasing his latest novel, Joyland as a print only publication. One of the first authors to embrace the ebook revolution, releasing “Riding the Bullet” back in 2000 in ebook only format. The book became the very first “mass-market electronic book.”
Apparently the iconic author still has a soft spot for print and bookstores. “I have no plans for a digital version. Maybe at some point, but in the meantime, let people stir their sticks and go to an actual bookstore rather than a digital one.”
Joyland, which will be released on June 4 by Hard Case Crime/Titan Books, “follows a 1970s college student who is employed at a carnival in North Carolina one summer and finds out about a murder that occurred several years ago and was never solved.” With a cover tagline that reads, “Who dares enter the funhouse of fear?“, it looks to be pure King in any format.
