Oyster – The Netflix of eBooks

oyster_logotype_darkOyster Books just announced they have 500,000 eBook titles in their library. Plus, Android, Kindle Fire and  Barnes & Noble Nook HD users rejoice, the Oyster lending library is now available on your devices. The eBook subscription service has been called the “Netflix of eBooks” as they offer an all you can read buffet of book titles for a low monthly rate of $9.95.

Since it’s launch in 2012, Oyster has added thousands of titles, garnered significant financial support and now their subscription service is available on nearly all media formats. In February, they added kids books, and their App has been praised in the digital world.

Why the name Oyster?
“Oyster takes inspiration from the famous literary line, “the world’s mine oyster.” All the pleasures of reading are yours for the taking, no matter where you go.”
