Amazon announced they will be opening additional brick-and-mortar bookstores. According to CEO Jeff Bezos; “It’s an experiment. We’re definitely going to open additional stores.” The online retailer opened their first store last year in Seattle where their headquarters is located. The store features approximately 6000 book titles as well as the complete line of Kindles.
There are rampant rumors that there will be an additional 400 stores opening, but there has been no confirmation, or numbers released by Amazon.
In a statement reported by the Independent/UK, Bezo’s stated: “In these early days, it’s all about learning, rather than trying to earn a lot of revenue,” and offered no specifics.
