Cher’s Memoir To Be Published by HarperCollins

cherWhile no release date has been announced, HarperCollins has announced they’ve acquired the rights to Cher’s memoirs and Carrie Thornton has been selected as the editor.

In a news release HarperCollins said: “In this comprehensive, intimate, and revealing memoir, Cher will tell the story of her journey from high school dropout to becoming one of the best-loved musicians and actresses in history, and winner of a Grammy, an Oscar, an Emmy, and three Golden Globe Awards.”

Covering Cher’s childhood, her marriage and partnership with Sonny, her solo music career, as well as her numerous movie credits, the book will give readers an insight into the singers life. HarperCollins went on to say the memoir will be an: “comprehensive, intimate, and revealing memoir”.

Harper Non-Fiction editorial director Katya Shipster added:  “Cher is a cultural phenomenon who continues to transcend the boundaries between music, film, fashion, politics and popular culture. She is, and always has been, frank, funny and outspoken, and her life and career have been utterly exceptional, as this book promises to be.”
