2018 marks the 14th year that author Lori Foster has hosted her annual Reader/Author Get Together. What began as a small gathering of authors and readers has blossomed into one of the most anticipated reader events of the year. The event happens every June. Tickets go on sale in March and they are sold out in minutes!
There are two signings held during RAGT on Friday and Saturday and both are open to the public. The real fun however, is for those lucky enough to score an elusive ticket. Boardrooms sponsored by authors and publishers offer book readings, giveaways, contests, parties and just plain fun.
This year the basket raffle raised a record $28,000 dollars for the Animal Adoption Foundation. The other usual recipient of raffle dollars One Way Farm closed their doors this year. From Lori Foster: Because the One Way Farm placed their resident children and then closed their doors after 41 years of amazing service, we chose the animal shelter this year. However, the plan for 2019 is to allocate those funds to CancerFree KIDS, a local organization with a mission to eradicate cancer as a life threatening disease to children.”
