With well over 1-million votes cast by readers, Goodreads has just announced the winners of their annual Best Books of the Year. One winner for 2012 was a little surprising. After being panned by the critics, author J.K. Rowling, in her debut novel for adult readers, has captured the Best Fiction Book Award. Garnering slightly over 11,000 votes, The Casual Vacancy took the top spot. Awards were given in nearly every literary genre category, and were chosen by Goodreads members/readers.
