Wondering who was on top of this year’s Forbes list of highest paid authors? Look no further. With a $14 million dollar increase since last year, James Patterson tops the list earning a staggering $84 million. Mr. Patterson does employ a team of writers and released 10 books last year.
Next was Stephenie Meyer author of the Twilight Saga at $21 million and John Grisham at $18 million, both of these authors write for the adult and young adult markets.
There were several authors on the list that only write for children; Rick Riordan Suzanne Collins, J.K. Rowling, and Jeff Kinney.
There is now a Kindle Million Club for authors who sell over a million book as eBooks. This club now includes, Stieg Larsson, James Patterson, Nora Roberts, Charlaine Harris, Lee Child and Suzanne Collins.
Rounding out the top earning authors are, Danielle Steel $35 million, Stephen King $28 million, and Janet Evanovich $22 million.
