The Association of American Publishers just released their sales figures for the first half of this year. The numbers are stunning. Paperback book sales have plummeted by 64 percent compared to sales figures from last year. eBooks sales however, have skyrocketed, seeing a sales increase of 161 percent!

From the Association of American Publishers: “These figures represent 79 publishers reporting data.”

Another bright note for publishing is AAP also reported sales in publishing at up, ” net sales revenue has grown annually; 2010’s $27.94 Billion is a 5.6% increase over 2008.”
