Author Judy Batalion’s novel, Daughters of the Resistance: Valor, Fury, and the Untold Story of Women Resistance Fighters in Hitler’s Ghettos, has been optioned by Steven Spielberg of Amblin Partners.
The movie will focus on the books story of : “young Jewish women and girls who fought in the resistance against the Nazis. Batalion, a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, discovered the women’s first-hand accounts in Yiddish.” The book is based on accounts the author discovered the stories in Yiddish.
Batalion is the grand-daughter of Holocaust survivors and will be a co-producer on the film. The book is scheduled for publication in 2020.
