Frankie stood and put another log on the fire, watching the sparks shoot up the flue. “So, where does that leave us today? Why are you here, Roxie?”
She moved from the couch and joined him by the fireplace. “I want you, Frankie. I want to be a family, you and me and Jimmy and Eve. I want the life I never had; that you never had. I want us.”
When asked if he remembered the exact moment his life changed, Frankie would answer it smelled of wood smoke and balsam, and tasted like Roxie’s lips. As his arms wrapped around her everything fell into place, his doubts and concerns melting away, replaced with pure, unadulterated love.

What kind, you ask? Well, I penned the Hidden Springs series – eight historical western romantic suspense novels set in the late 1800s Arizona Territory.
