A STRANGER AT THE DOOR BY JASON PINTER

From the Amazon bestselling author of Hide Away comes the gripping second installment of the Rachel Marin Thriller series.

Rachel Marin is in a good place. After years of struggle, the single mother has found both a stable, loving relationship and a new purpose: putting her investigative skills to work solving crimes for the local PD. But just as the pieces of her life are finally starting to fall into place, her teenaged son’s teacher is gruesomely murdered, starting a domino effect that shatters her peaceful existence.

When Rachel discovers an ominous email the teacher sent to her just before his death, she knows she must help bring his killer to justice. But soon a figure from her past reappears, threatening to expose Rachel’s darkest secrets if she doesn’t tread lightly. And when her son is recruited by a shadowy businessman who may be connected to the murder, Rachel knows this has just gotten very, very personal.

Someone out there is dead set on keeping this grisly cover-up good and buried, which means if Rachel’s not careful, it’s only a matter of time before her dream life becomes her worst nightmare.

GOLD FEVER -Book one of the Treasures of The Heart Series by Lawna Mackie

Could it be true? The gold existed. A treasure map alluded to such a find, but for over a century it was rumored a fable, one told by an old crazy man—Samantha (Sam) Avery’s great-great-uncle. One huge problem existed. Her brother Finn sent her the map and told her to run. Sam knew her big brother was in trouble and she had to help him. In Dawson City, Yukon, Hunter Gray, outfitter and guide had been hired to do a job. At the airport, pick up a Sam Avery and take him to the old Charlie Avery cabin up the mighty river. What Hunter Gray hadn’t expected was for Sam to be a Samantha, who wore fashion designer shoes, had a sharp tongue and a goddess like appearance—the vast wilderness of the Yukon was no place for somebody like her Sam had to learn quickly. How hard could it be to ride a horse and live without running water and restaurants for a week? It didn’t matter, her brother needed her and Sam had to convince the ruggedly handsome man and his wolf… yes…wolf, that she was up to the adventure. Spending night and day together, Samantha knows the attraction between them is growing quickly. Not only is Samantha determined to rescue her brother, but she must now save her heart from a man who doesn’t believe in love.

SPECIAL FEATURE: What’s new in 2021? ~ by Kristine Raymond (And a reader EXCLUSIVE!)

0

What’s new in 2021? ~ by Kristine Raymond

Happy New Year!  Can I tell you how nice it is to type ‘2021’ instead of ‘2020’?  Who would’ve thought the transition from teen years to adulthood would be so rocky?  But we made it through, and this decade has reached legal drinking age, so let the party begin!

Oh, wait.  I can’t party – I have too much to do.  Because my answer to ‘What’s new in 2021?’ is books, books, and more books!

I know, it’s been a while since I published, but that hasn’t stopped story ideas from popping into my head at every turn.  There are lots of exciting characters headed your way this year, and readers of Reader’s Entertainment Magazine are getting a sneak peek of what I have planned.

** A new Finn’s Finds Mystery **

Hitting e-readers everywhere the first half of the year (sorry, can’t be more precise than that at the moment) is Finn-icky Eaters, the second book in the Finn’s Finds Mystery series.

Grandma Lena’s Bake-Off entry knocked ‘em dead – literally.  Convinced the cops have arrested the wrong person, will Finn find the perpetrator of the poisonous pastries before she’s 86ed for good?

If you haven’t yet read the first book in the series, you can find Finn-agled here.

** New series **

Also new this year is the Hounds of Love series; short romances with a canine theme. The
first story – Leash Law – will be making its debut soon.

I’m also working on an original short story for inclusion in Kaleidoscope Hearts: Volume
Three. This anthology will be available wide for a limited time as a free download, and it’s
an excellent opportunity to discover new-to-you authors. Mark your calendars for February
14! You won’t want to miss it!

*** Reader’s Entertainment Magazine Exclusive ***

There’s a new Hidden Springs book coming!

I know – I’ve stated on multiple occasions that I was through with the series, but the characters have different ideas.  Christopher Mackenzie, Sam and Kate’s son, wants a HEA of his own, so who am I to deny him?

Hitting bookshelves – virtual and otherwise – in the first half of 2021 will be Royal Desires, the tenth book in the Hidden Springs series.  Bookmark my website – www.kristineraymond.com – to keep up with my new releases or sign up for my newsletter for sneak peeks.

Speaking of my newsletter, I slacked off in 2020 (there’s that dreaded year again) and stopped sending it.  Quite honestly, with no new books out, I didn’t have much to share, and rather than clutter your inboxes with the same old tired “nothing going on here” email, I let it rest.  Time to wake it up, though, ‘cause there are lots of new things coming your way!

** Later in the year **

For the latter half of 2021, I plan to release another Finn’s Finds book (not sure which yet as I have four possible stories to run with) and a second Hounds of Love story.  Whew!  Told you I’d be busy!

“What about your podcast?”

Ah, yes.  Thanks for asking.  In order to devote time to my writing, I’ve put Word Play with Kristine Raymond on hiatus.  Don’t worry, though; you can still catch all 231 episodes on your favorite audio platform or by visiting the website.

** Final Words **

In my spare time – (insert hysterical laughter here) – I’ll be putting in a second Hügelkultur garden, expanding the chicken enclosure, and chasing after my furbabies.  A productive year, to be sure!

What’s new for you in 2021?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

It wasn’t until later in life that Kristine Raymond figured out what she wanted to be when she grew up, an epiphany that occurred in 2013 when she sat down and began writing her first novel.  Over a dozen books in multiple genres later, there are a multitude of ideas floating around in her head thus assuring she’ll never be idle.

When a spare moment does present itself, she fills it by navigating the publishing and promotional side of the business.  When not doing that, she spends time with her husband and furbabies (not necessarily in that order) at their home in south-central Kentucky, gardens, reads, or binge-watches Netflix.

To find out more, please visit her website at www.kristineraymond.com and follow her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and BookBub.

Del Rey Publishes New Star Wars Book

0

Beginning with this week’s Del Rey publication of STAR WARS: Light of the Jedi (The High Republic), Lucasfilm is launching an epic new era of Star Wars storytelling that will be explored through multiple voices in adult and young adult novels, children’s books, and comics from a variety of publishers, including Del Rey, Disney Lucasfilm Press, IDW Publishing, and Marvel.

Star Wars: The High Republic is set in an era when the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order are at their zenith, about 200 years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. This period on the Star Wars timeline will not overlap any of the filmed features or series currently planned for production, giving creators and partners a vast amount of room to tell Star Wars stories with new adventures and original characters.

In Light of the Jedi, the first book in this cross-publisher franchise, the galaxy is in a golden age. Intrepid hyperspace scouts expand the reach of the Republic to the furthest stars, worlds flourish under the benevolent leadership of the Senate, and peace reigns, enforced by the wisdom and strength of the renowned order of Force users known as the Jedi. With the Jedi at the height of their power, the free citizens of the galaxy are confident in their ability to weather any storm. But the even brightest light can cast a shadow, and some storms defy any preparation.

Available January 5 in all formats, Del Rey has also partnered with Out of Print to release special, signed limited editions of the book, featuring exclusive cover art designed by illustrator Jama Jurabaev and bundled with a pair of Star Wars: The High Republic-inspired socks and a matching enamel pin.
